EFI Launches New High-Performance Printers to Enhance Competitiveness and Sustainability in Wide-Format Printing

LONDONDERRY, NH – Electronics For Imaging, Inc. (EFI) has expanded its Wide Format Pro Series with the introduction of two new next-generation printers, the EFI™ Pro 16h+ hybrid LED printer and the EFI Pro 30f+ flatbed LED printer. These printers are designed to help sign and display graphics producers enhance their competitiveness, expand their business capabilities, and achieve a lower total cost of ownership (TCO).

The 65-inch EFI Pro 16h+ hybrid flatbed/roll-fed LED printer stands out with its exceptional image quality, offering resolutions of up to 1200 dpi and true variable drop grayscale printing with a 5-picoliter drop size. It delivers production-level printing speeds up to 50% faster than its predecessor, the Pro 16h printer. Additionally, the Pro 16h+ features new front and back media pressure rollers, semi-continuous board feeding, and an advanced four-chamber media-platen vacuum system for efficient media handling and quick job transitions. An embedded Fiery® proServer Core digital front end with FAST RIP acceleration technology further optimizes performance, making it ideal for demanding, fast-paced environments.

The Pro 16h+ also incorporates LED curing technology and supports CYMK plus two white ink channels, allowing for up to five-layer printing in a single pass. This expands the range of applications that can be produced at a lower manufacturing cost, catering to a broader spectrum of customer needs.

Similarly, the new EFI Pro 30f+ flatbed LED printer offers exceptional image quality with resolutions up to 1200 dpi and a 5-picoliter drop size. It achieves speeds up to 25% faster than the original Pro 30f, significantly boosting operational efficiency. With a large bed size offering a printable area of 120 x 80 inches, bleed printing capabilities, and the ability to print on media up to four inches thick, the Pro 30f+ is designed for versatile production at a reduced cost per print. Like the Pro 16h+, it also includes an embedded Fiery proServer Core.

“These launches represent a significant milestone for EFI,” said Ken Hanulec, EFI’s vice president of worldwide marketing. “The Pro+ Series printers, alongside the recently launched Pro 33r roll-to-roll LED printer, set a new standard for entry-level, wide-format production printing. They empower our customers to be more profitable and innovative in a competitive market.”

In addition to the new printers, EFI has introduced the ProGraphicsTM+ Series LED inks, custom-formulated for the Pro+ Series printers’ Ricoh Gen6 printheads. These inks offer enhanced adhesion, elongation, and water resistance, maintaining the same surface cure as the ProGraphics POP UV inks. They also improve uptime and reliability with their remarkable open time and enhanced jetting performance, eliminating the need to purge or wipe printheads between jobs.

The ProGraphics+ inks align with EFI’s sustainability goals, as they are environmentally friendly, containing no heavy metals, minimal VOC emissions, and are TPO- and THFA-free. These inks are also designed to comply with future EU regulations, further supporting EFI’s commitment to sustainability with its green LED curing technology that reduces power consumption and waste.

“These new printers, combined with the impressive ProGraphics+ inks, have garnered positive feedback from early customers,” Hanulec added. “We believe they will resonate strongly with the larger market, offering a versatile, eco-friendly printing solution.”

The EFI Pro 16h+ hybrid and Pro 30f+ flatbed printers are now available for worldwide ordering.
