News reaching Printers Digest Magazine revealed that an elder and Council member of the Chartered Institute of Professional Printers of Nigeria (CIPPON) was the faceless plaintiff behind the Minna Court Injunction that saw the cancellation of the election and postponement of the annual general meeting less than 24 hours to the said event.
This was revealed in a leaked WhatsApp conversation between the Council member Dr. Daniel Itanyi and Mr. Abidemi Aderibigbe Sharafadeen, both of the same department at the Kaduna State Polytechnics and the conversation reads as follows: ” Mr. Sharafadeen – But Dr. you never told me you will list my name among members going to court. I don’t like court case. Dr., I noticed that you did not include your name among the plaintiffs but defendants why, please? I will not want my name to be left in the court case”. and Dr. Itanyi’s response read: “Don’t worry, it’s for our good. I am sorry if I did not make it clear to you from the onset. I have heard you. We will do the needful before the next hearing. Our sole aim was to get an injunction to stop the election”. He said
Dr. Itanyi was contacted to confirm the story from the screenshot WhatsApp conversation and he said: ” I don’t have any hand in the court case, I am neutral”
On contacting Mr. Sharafadeen to hear his own side of the story, he said: ” I am not part of the court case and when told that Dr. Itanyi said he is neutral despite the leaked conversation, he said: “He can say anything but he can’t tell me that. I was not in the picture. I don’t like issues that involve court case” Sharafadeen stated
