Indications from the internationally renowned digital printing and packaging machine manufacturing company BOBST shows that the company is set to establish a top-of-the-world plant in Lagos, South-west Nigeria.
This is coming on the heels of the formal opening of the Swiss company office in Lagos recently. As gathered, the proposed Bobst Lagos will also serve the West African region of the continent both in machinery and manpower.
Addressing newsmen in Lagos recently, Managing Director for Africa & Middle East Samir Khoudja who was joined by Emilio Corti Head of Sales, Business Unit Sheet-fed, Gabriel Migy, Cristina Toffolo De Piante, Eric Pavone and Christophe Boutin said the interest of the company was to bring value to the enormous need of the growing Nigerian demand and by extension, West African nations.
In his words, “Even as a Swiss company with subsidiaries of repute, we are very proud of Nigeria as a nation. As a company, we produce packaging machinery where we are specialist in this business and with large spectrum of customers globally. Africa market is very important to us even though up till now they are in some kind of recession but is not the end of the world, it is just a question of time, things will improve better and better next few months and this is why we have come into the country, in a time like this, to pitch our tenth with other stakeholders and industry practitioners as we as join hands to grow the sector together”.
