Global Plus Publishing (GPP) has unveiled its newly acquired innovative Ecoline Manugraph web printing machine, a move set to revolutionize the printing industry. In a strategic effort to curb capital flight, GPP’s latest technology promises enhanced efficiency and sustainability, positioning the company at the forefront of eco-friendly printing solutions.
Pastor Folasade Imoagene, the Managing Director of GPP, made this disclosure during her welcome speech at the launching event held at the company’s head office in Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos. She emphasized that this strategic move aims to significantly boost the company’s printing capabilities, encouraging publishers to seek local printing services rather than outsourcing abroad. Pastor Imoagene declared this development as the dawn of a new era for the printing industry, underscoring GPP’s commitment to driving innovation and fostering economic growth within the sector.
“Today, we celebrate a significant milestone in our journey, as the foremost and preferred printing press, not only within this country, but beyond the shores of Nigeria. we’ve been in existence since 18years ago but today we’re re-born” she said.
“The capacity expansion with the addition of the web that we are launching is a major leap forward in our business positioning,” Imaogene added.
Saying that the machine will help printers to easily do their jobs within Nigeria, thereby saving time and foreign exchange, she added: “Actually, the publishers have had several ongoing battles. With the terrain we are now, the publishers are looking more inwards; the instability in the foreign exchange and the economic climate is making us become closer friends at this time.
“We have to build our capacity as a nation, we have to build our human capacity, we have to build our equipment capacity, we have to build all our capacities and keep our money in Nigeria.”
Affirming that with the Ecoline Manugraph Web Printing Machine, GPP has the capacity to serve its customers better and timely, the GPP MD added: “We are ready, we have capacity that is required to face any project as small as it could be. In the process of doing that, we have also gained the mastery of adding value to our customers.
“We provide proof-reading services for every job that comes into GPP. Our valued customers will testify, they always tell us that that is something they don’t get everywhere.
“We don’t think it is enough to say this is what the publisher sent to us, we painstakingly look at it, and send back all our observations. Many times, we receive a lot of appreciation for that.”
Imoagene also revealed that GPP anticipates acquiring another world-class innovative solution, a 3D printing machine, in the near future. This upcoming addition underscores GPP’s commitment to continually advancing their technological capabilities and maintaining their leadership in the industry.
Also at the event, Chairman of GPP, Yemisi Kudehinbu, highlighted that Global Plus Publishing is the realization of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s visionary work. She shared that there was a time when they had to print in India and South Africa, but it was Pastor Chris’s inspiration that led to the establishment of GPP. Kudehinbu commended and expressed her deep appreciation for Pastor Chris, acknowledging his vision and inspiration as the driving force behind the inception of GPP.
According to her “Pastor Chris gave a word and said, why don’t you set up a press, a printing press for this? “And today, we have Global Plus Publishing. He is someone that believes very much in Nigeria. He believes in the nation; he believes that we can solve our own challenges.
“He said no one will build Nigeria for us, Nigeria will be built by Nigerians.”
Stating that the GPP is committed to contributing to the growth of the printing industry in the nation, Kudehinbu added: “We want to make Nigeria a pride of the nations. So, working together with all of you, I believe that we will have more launching, more ribbon cutting and more milestones to more
achievements that will be celebrated.”
Kudehinbu reveals that GPP has an unborn printing/packaging innovations and plans for customers to enjoy in future. She then lauded Bank of Industry (BoI) and First City Monument Bank (FCMB) for their support to the GPP, especially for their utmost financial support in acquiring the ecoline web machine.
President of the Chartered Institute of Professional Printers of Nigeria (CIPPON), Babajide Salako, expressed his delight at being part of the installation of the new Ecoline Manugraph Web Printing Machine. He remarked that the investment demonstrates Global Plus Publishing’s commitment to excellence and dedication to staying at the forefront of technology. “As president of CIPPON, I’m proud and glad to see our members embracing innovation and sustainability,” Salako stated. He emphasized that the new machine is a testament to the potential for improved efficiency, quality, and productivity in the industry. Salako urged everyone to continue exploring ways to enhance their craft, share knowledge, and collaborate for the betterment of the printing industry. He called on all industry stakeholders to collaborate more than ever before for the benefit of all, “Together we rise”.
Managing Director of the Bank of Industry (BoI), Dr. Olasupo Olusi, represented by the Acting Regional Manager for Lagos, Richard Imonije, lauded GPP for its commitment to excellence in publishing and its dedication to delivering quality content. He highlighted that GPP’s contributions to the printing industry were invaluable and expressed that BoI was honored to be a part of their success story. “As you continue to inspire readers and authors alike with your innovative publications, please know that we are here to provide any assistance you may need within our purview,” Olusi added.
Managing Director of FCMB, Yemisi Edun, in her goodwill message, also praised GPP for its vision, innovation, and job creation efforts. She noted that by supporting initiatives like GPP, the potential for economic growth and prosperity in Nigeria can be fully realized. Edun commended GPP for their forward-thinking approach and their significant contribution to the nation’s economic development.
GPP’s achievements in the industry are highlighted by their remarkable track record of winning the Most Strategic Business Organization Award for six consecutive years. This accolade reflects their consistent dedication to excellence, innovation, and strategic growth within the publishing and printing sector.
Other notable personalities at the event included Mr. Tunde Obokhai, MD/CEO of DCS Integrated Media and publisher of Printers Digest magazine, Nigeria’s foremost and leading indigenous print journal and organizer of the International Paper Publishing and Print Expo. Mr. Malomo Olugbemi, former CIPPON president, members of the Nigeria Publishers Association, GPP customers, and members of the press were also in attendance, underscoring the significance of the occasion within the industry.
