Organizers of PlastPrintPack and Agrofood Nigeria, Fairtrade has lamented the absence of printers at this year’s event which held at the Landmark Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Speaking with PRINTERS DIGEST in an interview, Managing Director Martin Marz described the event as ‘not yet complete’ due to the near or total lack of printing professionals at the event.
“One major challenges we have had so far is the absence of printers coming to take stands and exhibit their product. The event itself is originally conceived as a packaging and plastics show, but as organizers, we also put into consideration that packaging cannot be complete without the activities of printers with respect to light packaging and label printing. But believe me, its not funny to say that hardly do we find a printer coming to the show. This is the second of its kind, and nothing positive have come in this direction”.
Speaking on their anticipation, Martin said, “as organizers, I can confidently tell you that we have a very good hold of the global packaging and plastics sector. Plastprintpack is a global exhibition hence our very strong international presence. But we need the printers to come and complete the trend. Opportunities abound everywhere and I know this platform provides a veritable one for that label and light packaging printer or printing firm”.
