The Shift In The Paradigms

I am not quite sure about what paradigm shift really is, but I think that it is something we changed the way we view it over time.
” A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die, and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it.” Unknown author
Print businesses all over the world and most especially the Nigerian printing industry have continued to come to terms with the negative effect of the pandemic on their businesses. Although, many organizations have started full operations, but at a reduced or negative margin for the foreseeable future unless dramatic changes are made from the effects of the global pandemic that crumbled most businesses. The more forecasts suggest that liquidity is likely to become a greater concern, the more important and urgent it will be to seek for additional sources of capital.
Recognizing that the post-pandemic reality will be permanently different from the pre-pandemic normal, organizations should not wait to take action. Whereas companies may not achieve profitability in the same ways as before, recognizing this paradigm shift as one that is not simply going to revert back will enable organizations to make informed financial decisions looking forward rather than backward.
Print markets globally are shrinking thereby prompting rapid consolidation among commercial and traditional print companies and the Nigerian printing industry is not left out of these challenges. Printers Digest Magazine captured in detail a way forward for the print business owners in Nigeria during the recently held Webinars on MERGERS AND ACQUISITION – A PANACEA FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE NIGERIA PRINTING INDUSTRY and MAKING PRINT BUSINESS PROFITABLE AGAIN; HOW READY IS THE PRINTING INDUSTRY?
Also, this edition has incisive stories on the events of the past months in the Nigeria printing industry that played out the power of interest and influence in the activities of the Chartered Institute of Professional Printers of Nigeria (CIPPON) that saw the cancellation of the election, postponement of the annual general meeting and the resignation of the Chairman of the institute’s advisory Council few days after the Printers National Conference.

We have our cover story on heavy dependence on the importation of paper in Nigeria a major challenge facing the Nigeria printing Industry and more engaging stories are all-inclusive in this edition.
