At Second Expanded MSME Clinics, Shettima Hands Over 200 New Stores to Lucky Traders in Adire Market

Vice President Kashim Shettima recently announced the handover of 200 newly refurbished stores at the renowned Asero Adire market in Abeokuta to 400 entrepreneurs. These beneficiaries will have free access to the stores for one year, after which they will be offered discounted rates for usage, as part of President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s commitment to supporting small businesses and fostering an enabling environment for their growth.

The announcement took place during the second edition of the Expanded National MSME Clinics in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Shettima highlighted the importance of the Clinics in bridging the gap between the government and the people, aiming to provide a platform for regulatory agencies to collaborate closely with small businesses.

Shettima emphasized the government’s role in creating an ecosystem conducive to innovation and entrepreneurship, stating that the objective is to enable small businesses to thrive and expand their horizons. He expressed confidence in the potential of MSMEs across Nigeria and pledged continued support from the Federal Government and its partners to help them reach their full potential.

The Vice President commended the Ogun State government for its cooperation in the project, recognizing the state as a guiding force in the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting enterprises. He also praised President Tinubu’s vision for the nation, which focuses on leveraging industrial capabilities to drive economic growth.

In addition to the Clinics, Shettima inaugurated two projects executed by the Federal Government in collaboration with partners – an ultra-modern fashion hub for MSMEs and the refurbished Asero Adire market. Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State expressed gratitude to the Vice President for his commitment to supporting businesses in the state and outlined other initiatives aimed at creating an enabling environment for small businesses.

Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Mr. Wale Edun, reiterated President Tinubu’s dedication to improving the welfare of Nigerians, particularly by supporting small businesses to thrive and grow.
