The Chartered Institute of Professional Printers of Nigeria (CIPPON) set to embark on Nationawide print and allied industry business registration and validation exercise tagged: LETS SECURE THE PRINTING INDUSTRY FUTURE, BE COUNTED!
The aim of the exercise according to a press statement made available to us from the secretariat is to know the number of companies involved in the printing business for developmental purpose, planning and regulation, for a sustainable printing business and profitability.
The statement reads, ” CIPPON- The body charged with the duty of Regulating, Controlling, Managing and Administration of Printers and Printing allied Industry in Nigeria, in Pursuant of Section 9 of the Printers ACT 24, OF 2007, is embarking on a Nationwide Enumeration and Registration / validation of the entire value chain of printing in Nigeria”.
According to the President and Chairman in Council of the Institute, Mr. Olugbemi Malomo, It’s Illegal to practice or run a printing business in Nigeria without registration with the Printing institute. ” For proper regulation in ensuring best business practice and ethical conduct, to separate genuine printing business from quacks and ensure that printing is no longer an “all comers affairs”, to combat the raging activities of counterfeiters and pirates that costs the nation billions of Naira annually, create printing and consumable standards in the printing industry value chain, ensure the Nigeria printing industry becomes the biggest printing economy in Africa, thereby utilizing the economic potentials of printing as means of solving Nigeria unemployment challenges
He added that the printing industry clusters are the constituents of the industry ecosystem and will be used for the registration and validation exercise, organistaions or institutes carrying out printing business in Nigeria who failed to register on or before April 2021 be prosecuted. He said
