Chartered Institute of Professional Printers of Nigeria ACT, 2007. ACT No 24, though having being in operation since its enactment, a close observation shows that majority of Print Professionals is yet to get themselves acquainted with its provisions which is for regulating, controlling, managing and administration of printers in Nigeria so as to grow the industry to an enviable position.

AN ACT ESTABLISHED CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF PROFESSIONAL PRINTERS OF NIGERIA (REGISTRATION, ETC.), TO BE CHARGED WITH THE DUTY OF REGULATING, CONTROLLING, MANAGING AND ADMINISTRATION OF PRINTERS IN NIGERIA, AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES
(30TH DAY OF JULY, 2007)
3. —- (1) the president of other members of the council, other than ex-officio members
(a) shall each hold office for a period of two years on such terms and conditions as may be specified in their letters of appointment; and
(b) May be re-appointed for one further period of 2 years and no more.
4. —– (1) notwithstanding the provisions of section 3 of this Act, a person shall cease to hold office as a member of the council if:
(a) He becomes bankrupt, or compounds with his creditors: or
(b) He is convicted of a felony or any offence involving dishonesty or fraud; or
(c) He becomes of unsound mind, or incapable of carrying out his duties; or
(d) he is guilty of a serious misconduct in relation to his duties; or
(e) in the case of a person possessed of professional qualifications, he is disqualified suspended from practicing his profession in any part of the world by an order of a competent authority made in respect of that member; or
(2) if a member of the council ceases to hold office for any reason whatever, before the expiration of the term for which he is appointed, another person representing the same interest as that member shall be appointed to the council for the unexpired term.
