To consolidate its POSITION as the foremost state-owned printing press in Nigeria, the Lagos State governor – Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Wednesday unveiled the Heidelberg Speedmaster CX 104 – 5 + L offset printing machine at the Lagos State Printing Corporation office in Alausa, Ikeja Lagos, Nigeria.
In his speech, Mr. Sanwo – Olu who was represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, Engineer (Mrs.) Aramide Adeyoye said: ” Ladies and gentlemen with today’s unveiling of the Heidelberg state – of – art printing machine, there is no doubt that Lagos State Printing Corporation, LSPC has taken its rightful place among its contemporary printing outfits in Nigeria and the continent”.
“Heidelberg Speedmaster CX 104-5+L six colour represents a pinnacle of innovation and engineering excellent. It has the capacity of printing over 16,500 copies per hour, it incorporates printing edge technologies, precision engineering, and advanced features with speed qualities and spend efficiency”. Governor Sanwo-Olu said
“In today’s digital world, the printing industry will continue to evolve and adapt to the changing needs of businesses and consumers. The Heidelberg Speedmaster CX 104-5+L is a game changer and I congratulate the management of Lagos state printing corporation on this new acquisition. At this junction to whom much is given, much is expected, the staff and the other workforce should further justify the huge investment in the new machine to curb the needs of the printing press through innovations and dynamic performance. Our administration will also give further support and assistance for the progress of this corporation” He stated
The General Manager of the corporation, Hon. Kolawole Peregrino in his speech said: The Lagos state press (as it was known then) largely catered for all the printing needs of the government and all its MDAs. It engaged them in the production of books, including exercise books, security documents such as school leaving certificates, Driver’s examination papers, Receipts, Stationaries, and other allied products for the arms of the government.
“Mr. Governor’s themes agenda on making Lagos a 21st-century economy which focuses on creativity, innovation, and development is committed to ensuring that Lagos state printing corporation can compete with its counterparts across the globe, this has metamorphosed to the official unveiling of Heidelberg Speedmaster CX 104-5+L, with high technical quality that can print over 16,500 copies hour, this is first in the state and Africa which confirms Lagos state readiness to remain relevant in global ranking”.

” The Speedmaster CX 104 – 5 + L offset machine was launched into the market in June 2021 and LSPC was the first in West Africa and amongst the first five in Africa to invest in this peak performance and technology leadership equipment in its own category”, Bejer stated.
According to him, the machine is a workhorse that is equipped with the most robust and advanced artificial intelligence to aid the machine operators to have seamless operations with a precision that is second to none in the printing industry.
Heidelberg Nigeria Chairman said the technology – Speedmaster CX 104 was designed to outclass competitive products and to maintain Heidelberg’s place at the forefront of research and development in the graphic communication and printing industry.

As a strong recommendation to the management of LSPC, Bejer emphasized the need for the corporation to strongly adhere to the use of Heidelberg’s approved consumables and spare parts to maximize the efficiency and productivity; and prolong the life span of this state – of – the – art printing machine”.
Bejer added: “It is pertinent to note that LSPC now needs to bolster its post-press with the right and modern post-press equipment to conveniently handle all printing and packaging jobs for its clients in the future.
