The Chartered Institute of Professional Printers of Nigeria (CIPPON), alongside other stakeholders in the print value chain, is set to review the National Book Policy.
Recall that there was an issue of broken book chain, which spans from authors/writers to publishers/printers to booksellers/bookshops and book users/readers, whether it is because of policy somersault on the part of the government or not, the important issue is that there will be a review of national book policy by concerned stakeholders in the print value chain
“This is the first time in the history of policy-making that printers will be involved. This is exciting as it will offer us an opportunity to sit together with authors and publishers to renew this tripod marriage that has been strained with trust issues”. The statement from CIPPON secretariat reads.
Furthermore, interested printing practitioners who want to make their input on the proposed book policy have been encouraged to contact the Abuja liaison office of the Chartered Institute of Professional Printers of Nigeria for compilation of representation of stakeholders for meaningful input on the assigned role.
