The Federal Government [FG] recently has set up a committee of industry stakeholders to advise the government on the best way to alleviate the effects of the covid-19 pandemic on the creative industry.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, made this known recently during a meeting with the Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria, BON.
Lai Mohammed also announced the appointed members of the committee consisting of individuals from the Nigerian entertainment industry – Ali Baba [Chairman], Bolanle Austen peters, Charles Novia, Segun Arinze, Ali Jita amongst others members of the committee.
The committee will advise the Government on how to ease job and revenue losses in the sector as well as to create relieve for the industry small businesses. The committee will also suggest the type of taxation and financing that is best for the industry at this time to encourage growth. They are expected to advise the Government on any other measure or measures that can be undertaken to support the industry.
