THE PROFILE OF OMO – OBA SAM. A. OGUNDOGBA

If royal blood is the only basis of greatness, Omo-oba Sam A. Ogundogba is no doubt eminently chartered by providence as a great man.
He began his primary education at the St. Paul’s Anglican School, Odogbolu in 1942 and later admitted after his G. C. E. qualification in 1957 to the then Yaba Technical Institute(now Yaba College of Technology) to study Printing Technology.In order to further deepen his professional knowledge in the field, he proceeded to London and enrolled at the famous London College of Printing and Graphic Design (now University of Arts and Design)in 1962.
On graduation at the London College of Printing, he worked extensively in various printing establishments in the United Kingdom, chief among which was Billings and Sons Ltd in Guildford, Surrey. Back in Nigeria, he also worked at the National Press Ltd, Academy Press Plc, Ilupeju and Nigerprint Ltd, MatoriIndustrial Estate, Lagos to name a few; and at different times, held such important positions as Chief Estimator, production Manager and Chief Executive to name a few.
To further equip himself for independent business life, he undertook an intensive training course in Business Management at the Continuing Education Centre of the University of Lagos in 1978, and also attended various management courses on finance for non-financial Executive and work study etc at the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) Lagos.
Today, Omo-Oba Sam Ogundogba is not just an industrial Printer, but distinguished and acclaimed professional, and corporate governance executive, whose qualitative jobs could compare favorably with any of its kind in terms of approved international standards and quality anywhere in the world.
In 1980, Omo-Oba Sam Ogundogba established Emaconprint Ltd as a ‘mustard seed’ book publishing company with global outlook. Today he sits atop as Executive chairman, of a flourishing conglomerate. The company has made tremendous impact both in local and global business environment, enjoying the patronage of both the public and private sectors because of the high level standard of quality professional service rendered to its clients, responsible business relationships and goodwill.
Omo-Oba Sam Ogundogba is silent lender of ungrudging philanthropy to the socio-economic development of the people. Convinced, that rapid improvement in the socio-economic life of the people without a concurrence in improved mass literacy level would be a mirage, he established the “Lebiromi” Free Adult Education Centre, which he had single handedly funded since 1999.
In due recognition of these valuable contributions to literacy advancement in Ogun State, and Nigeria as a whole, he was twice honoured in 1973 and 1995 with the prestigious Honoured Citizen Award by the Odogbolu Community Development Council and with yet another Literacy Support Award by a non-governmental association committed to literacy support service (LSS).
Happily Married to Mrs. Grace Olufunmilayo Ogundogba, they are blessed with God fearing and successful children and grandchildren who are holding their own in various callings and endeavour.
Never can a man’s life be more eventful and rewarding than this, Papa is an industrious man of grace by God. A courageous Christian and successful industrialist, a gift from good parentage and a sagacious Administrator ‘par excellent’ whose life has become a model of what success is, or should be.
