RISO UNVEILS NEW PRODUCT LINE AT GRAPH EXPO

Premiering at this year’s GRAPH EXPO was the RISO ComColor GD Series of Professional Inkjet. Described as a high-speed, full-color printer that delivers prints at speeds up to 160ppm, the GD is believed to be world’s fastest cut sheet inkjet printer (A4, single side short edge), using 5 colors for an exceptional gray scale print quality and lower printing costs.

The machine, scheduled for launch in early 2017, comes with an embedded GDI, or 2 optional RIP. The embedded optional true Adobe PostScript RIP supports Mac/Linux, PDF direct printing, and remote printing from most mobile devices. The optional production RIP, the ComColorExpress FS2000C, is equipped with a Fiery digital front end developed by EFI. This image processor maximizes the ComColor GD series to meet the demands of variable data printing operations that are vital for Direct Mail or Transaction printing, and delivers high-speed data processing to large-volume, complex document data. Newly formulated ink offers high density black and vibrant colors. The ComColor GD Series handles a broad range of paper/card stock and envelopes from 3”x 5” to 11”x17” with weights ranging from 46gsm to 210gsm (12-lb bond to 56-lb bond).

RISO also displayed two concept machines, the T1 and T2 which earlier in the year, debuted at DRUPA in Germany. The RISO T1 is a compact, full color printer which uses continuous roll-paper instead of cut sheet paper, enabling printers to use the post-processing devices that they already own while incorporating the cost-effectiveness of RISO printing. The RISO T2 system offers a significant improvement in efficiency for duplex printing, reaching speeds of 300 duplexed prints per minute.
